Purpose
Rooted in a biblical understanding of leadership and informed by existing leadership theories and methods, the Center develops leadership theories and methods suited to Chinese-speaking communities, cultivating spiritually grounded leaders for churches and Christian organizations, Christian businesspeople, and executives and managers.
Our Vision
For spiritual leaders, who they are matters more than what they do. Guided by this principle, Chinese Christian leaders have tended to emphasize virtue and spiritual formation while giving less attention to the skills of leadership. As a result, they often find it difficult to proactively address the problems and conflicts facing churches and gospel organizations and to lead them forward. At the same time, the church has offered little spiritual support to Chinese Christian professionals in business, making it hard for the business community to exercise spiritual leadership. In response to these needs, GETS Theological Seminary established the Leadership Research Center in early 2019 to help churches, gospel organizations, and the business community walk the path of Spirit-led leadership.

Degree and Certificates
The Center offers a Master’s Degree in Christian Leadership, a Diploma Program in Coaching, and a Certificate Program in Clinical Pastoral Integration. To cultivate leaders with a coaching mindset who inspire and accompany others in their sustained growth across ministry, workplace, and community contexts.
Mission
Through integrated coach education, experiential learning, and reflective practice, we equip pastors, ministry leaders, and helping professionals to embody coaching-informed leadership in their ministry, workplace, and community relationships – building trust and walking alongside others, listening with presence and curiosity, inviting reflection and insight, and supporting meaningful and purposeful action.

Coaching-Informed Leadership is a competency-based coach education program designed for pastors, ministry leaders, and helping professionals. The program is delivered through a cohort-based learning model that integrates structured coach education, experiential learning, reflective practice, and mentor coaching.
